Painting is a journey through new territory; it is the same as an exploration of the psyche or tracing a philosophical concept.
Monica’s Dutch family emigrated to America when she was one year old. Years later her inquisitive nature took her on a journey back to her roots. Along the way she acquired a taste for the exotic which found its way into her paintings.
